315 Films' debut feature, Moment of Truth, had its big premiere at the most fitting place of all — home.

The film, which shot in Fort Myers and around Southwest Florida in recent years, earned a coveted Saturday night primetime slot at the Fort Myers Film Festival recently, and played to a large crowd hardly ready for the visceral experience the finished film had to offer.

Present at the screening were a bevy of film personnel, including director Tim Ritter, actors Stu Alexander, Jennifer Keister, Shawn Genther and Dave LePage, as well as assistant director Ted Souppa and second assistant director Nick Twardus. Ritter, Alexander, Keister and Genther answered questions after the screening and gave a brief tribute to the film's late sound mixer and producer Jayson Martinez, who passed away in 2014.

Leading up to the screening, Moment of Truth earned coverage in multiple outlets such as The News-Press and Arts SWFLA, who pointed out that the film was the first locally made narrative feature to play the established and popular festival in its seven-year run.

Next the film will play across town at the Fort Myers Beach Film Festival at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, the beginning of what is hopefully a long and healthy festival run for the film.

After a highly praised appearance at the Fort Myers Film Festival last month, 315 Films short The Interview will return to the city in which it was shot for yet another festival appearance — this time at the 15 Minutes of Fame Film Festival.

The film will play in the 3 p.m. block at the festival, which will be held at the International Palms Resort on International Drive in Orlando, where the film was shot in the fall of 2013. Filmmakers will be in attendance.
315 Films experienced a huge loss this month with the passing of frequent collaborator Jayson Martinez, who worked under the name Martin Lemaire.

Martinez, who has worked on nearly every 315 project the last four years, died in a traffic accident the first week of December. Martinez first came on for Perry Wilson's short film Crust as a behind-the-scenes videographer, then slid over to boom operator and sound mixer for Tim Ritter's Dawn, a role he would inhabit for features Moment of Truth and Testament as well as shorts Free and The Interview. He was well into handling the post sound and foley for Moment of Truth, and preparing to do the same for Testament.

Here are some of the social media reactions to the news from the weeks that followed:

"Jayson Martinez...I cannot believe you've passed from this world. I must believe now that a Greater Light has welcomed you as "Soundalf the Chill" I will forever see LOTR Return of the King and think of this moment on set of @testamentfilm when I was moved to capture a Master of Sound resting from yet another fantastic day at work. It was honor to know you and work with you...my heart breaks for your family and I lift them all in prayer."

- Jose Miguel Vasquez, "Drew" in Testament

His help and belief in me has only been exceeded by my belief in him, both as a creative talent who can do anything he sets his mind to as well as an incredible human being whose friendship I valued greatly. You put up with all the crazy stuff I put you and the 315 crew through again and again, whether it was in Fort Myers, Alabama or Orlando, and made me feel like I could achieve pretty much anything (and we've achieved a lot together). Many prayers and thoughts of your family, Jayson, and I'll never forget what you did for me and meant to me and so many friends of ours. I'll listen to some Ozomatli and 90s hip hop tonight and think of you, man. You won't be forgotten."

Step by step, Moment of Truth's debut is getting ever closer to completion. Director Tim Ritter joined cinematographer Perry Wilson recently in Fort Myers, Fla., where the two put the finishing touches on the final color grade for 315 Films' first feature. Meanwhile, composer Andrew Scott Foust completed his initial pass on what will be an intense and intensely original score for the movie.

While Foust and sound mixer Martin Lemaire finish their work on the movie's audio components, the film's marketing team will be readying an upgraded Moment of Truth website as well as preparing to roll out a comprehensive social media presence in anticipation of the film's completion in spring of next year, alongside 315's second feature Testament, which should follow close behind.315 Filmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16683015267947078024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8365135194137012468.post-8591818685373673952014-09-19T12:21:00.001-07:002014-09-19T12:22:06.088-07:00First edit of Testament in the books

Postproduction on Testament, 315 Films' second feature film, is way ahead of schedule, as the first editing pass was completed this week.

Director Tim Ritter, who is also editing the film, tied a bow on a 121-minute cut, with a second pass already underway. Still remaining are some likely minor pickup shots, along with a color grade, sound mix from Martin Lemaire and score from Andrew Scott Foust.

But for now, Ritter is very encouraged by the rapid progress on the feature film, which wrapped production in June after shooting in Florida and Alabama over the summer.
“This process has been a dream so far,” he said. “A lot of credit goes to our digital asset manager, Nick Izvernari, for setting up a very easy edit. But all the great footage, sound and performance have made all of the edits about making the very best out of already strong material rather than hiding screw-ups, which is what a lot of microbudget film edits become about.
“I’m pretty happy about how this looks so far.”
Another feature done — 315 Films wrapped production recently on its second feature-length film, Testament.

After a rigorous and ambitious schedule that stretched out over four weekends and 12 total days in Florida on top of three days shooting in Alabama over the winter, director Tim Ritter ended his second feature film with plenty to work with in postproduction in the way of strong performances and incredible visuals. The shoot included a visit to Jacksonville to shoot aboard a fishing boat as well as a hurricane-devastated beach, in addition to filming a staged riot in downtown Orlando.

"This has been an incredible experience," Ritter said after completing his second full-length production, following Moment of Truth, which is now receiving a score and a final sound mix. "I know I didn't make it easy on us or ever take the simple route for anything we did on this film, but over and over the cast and crew rose to the challenge. And it's all going to show up in the final product."

The director will also be handling the initial edit, with 52 minutes already edited. Stay tuned here as well as at testamentfilm.com and facebook.com/testamentfilm for more updates.

Testament, the new feature in the works from 315 Films, is off and running.

The fledgeling production followed up an incredible early Alabama shoot last month with a successful Kickstarter campaign ending this week, which will ensure the film gets its best chance to become something special.

The campaign, which ran a month and featured constant interview update segments, got a big push from the film's expansive cast and crew to raise more than $15,000 for production and postproduction costs.

"This is a huge boost for the film, and it's a great confidence boost to have that many people believing in our team and what we're committed to creating," said writer-director Tim Ritter.

The film, which stars Demi Castro and Rachel Comeau and follows a bitter former follower forced to keep a fading popular movement a live in a dying world, will start full production in May.315 Filmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16683015267947078024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8365135194137012468.post-81322298127215547252014-03-23T18:17:00.001-07:002014-03-23T18:17:32.091-07:00315 Films launches campaign for Testament

Testament, the second feature film from 315 Films, launched with a bang Thursday night, with several key cast
and crew members assembled to ring the film's Kickstarter campaign in
with style.

After everyone had a chance to meet and talk and get
friendly before the grind of production scheduled for this summer, director Tim
Ritter, producer Lacie Ratliff and Producer of Marketing and
Distribution Andrew Lee all took turns at the podium catching everyone
up on the rapid developments in the film's preproduction, before the campaign was launched to
raucous applause.

With more than $1,000 raised in the first 12 hours, the campaign is off to a strong start. Find out more at testamentfilm.com/kickstarter.
Two more professionals at the top of their field joined the Testament team recently: Casting directors Marco DiGeorge and Robb Maus. The pair, who will scout actors and help structure in the casting process for the film, have several years of acting behind them and run the Truthful Acting Studios in Orlando.

Marco started out in the business world, but couldn’t ignore his true passion and turned his attention fully to acting in 2004. Since then, he’s appeared in more than two dozen productions, including the feature films Because of You, Untitled, 15 Minutes of Faye, Out on Parole, Rapture, Sodom & Gomorrah and The Happiest Place on Earth.

Robb similarly worked in an unrelated field until succumbing fully to his own passion for the stage. Since then, he has taken roles in TV, on commercials and on the stage, as well as 20 film roles, including appearing with Marco in Sodom & Gomorrah, Untitled and Out on Parole.
Testament, written and directed by Tim Ritter, is scheduled to begin production in summer of 2014.

315 Films has added a couple of valuable members to its second feature film, Testament, with Andrew Lee and Laura Boman coming on board as Producers of Marketing and Distribution.
Andrew is the kind of guy you bring around if team building is required for success. He’s spent the past 10 years developing this skill while working through the management ranks of a large furniture retailer in South Florida. A Florida State graduate with a degree in marketing/small business management, Andrew has often been described by peers and direct reports as welcoming, driven, reliable and consistent.
Laura is an experienced marketing professional with a background in media and sales. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Auburn University, she had a seven-year career in newspapers before returning to an academic setting in 2011 to complete her MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University. Laura’s strengths include building relationships with clients and her ability to bring creative projects to fruition.
The two partnered recently to form a marketing team geared towards helping creative artists get their messages out to the world.
“The past 10 years of my life have been structured around business principles and theories. This stuff has already been done; being around creative people reminds me of the endless possibilities that the future has in store,” Andrew said.
The pair will help manage fundraising efforts, social-media coordination and the early foundation of building an audience for the ambitious microbudget film. Production is planned to begin in summer of 2014.

The latest short film offering from 315 Films, Anthony Consolo's The Interview, wrapped last week. On hand were actors Anthony Consolo and Enrico Marcellino, as well as director Tim Ritter, cinematographer Tu Do, sound man Mikhail Howell, makeup artist Thanh Pham and assistant director Ariel Zengotita.
Following its pioneering use of the hacked Panasonic GH2 on feature Moment of Truth, 315 Films tried out another new look with its use of the hacked Canon 5D Mark III on new short film The Interview last weekend. The short, written by star Anthony Consolo and directed by 315 co-founder Tim Ritter, follows Michael, an actor who follows the role of a lifetime with a live interview on his biggest stage yet. The feeling is fleeting, though, as suddenly everything seems to start slipping out of his hands.

The film was shot all day on Saturday in Orlando, with Consolo joined on set by fellow castmembers Enrico Marcellino, Sinclaire and Hank Schaefer and Renea Amore, as well as cinematographer Tu Do, makeup artist Thanh Pham, sound man Martin Lemaire and assistant director Ariel Zengotita. The group will reassemble for a few final shots later this week, and then the film will launch into postproduction.315 Filmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16683015267947078024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8365135194137012468.post-46198510461708175992013-08-23T12:32:00.006-07:002013-08-23T12:32:51.897-07:00Moment of Truth takes next step in postproduction

After getting a few final pickups with actors Stuart Alexander, Vladimy Bellefleur and Dave LePage at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers and then in Estero, Moment of Truth will continue its long road through postproduction. Director Tim Ritter, who was joined at the recent shoot by cinematographer Perry Wilson and second assistant director Nick Twardus, has finished his edit of the film and turned the project over to second editor Mikhail Howell for a polish. Once that's finished, the film will go to Martin Lemaire for foley and mixing and Andrew Scott Foust for a rousing musical score.
Perry Wilson's award-winning short film Crust will be getting its Orlando premiere on Sunday when it shows at the Enzian Theater's popular FilmSlam series. Each winning film in the monthly series is guaranteed a spot in the 2013 Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase, whose winner is an automatic entry into the Florida Film Festival. Crust saw its debut in the 2012 Fort Myers Film Festival, where it won the Best Short Short award.
315 Films just produced its second short film in conjunction with the University of Central Florida film department this year. Following the short short The First Time, which was shot and edited in one week in January, 315 co-founder Tim Ritter stepped in to produce the second short short Free, which was shot last week and is in postproduction. Both were shot in Orlando and will be making the festival rounds soon.

The First Time, which starts Jose Miguel Vasquez and Anthony Consolo, follows a new recruit who is introduced by a weary veteran into a sordid new life. Ritter assumed much of the directing duties, with UCF undergrads Jacob Sadowsky serving as cinematographer, Zachary Feller handling sound and Carlos Martinez contributing the story and serving as script supervisor.

Free marks the latest short from rising filmmaker Jason Whitaker, who wrote and directed, and follows a seemingly cursed everyman whose obsession with winning the lottery takes him into unexpected territory. Free stars Tony Riha and Consolo, with Kevin Levy as cinematographer, 315 veteran Martin Lemaire adding his seasoned touch to the sound, Alexis Perrin serving as script supervisor and Ritter and Steven Holland sharing producing duties.315 Filmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16683015267947078024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8365135194137012468.post-23793367322436622322012-12-10T20:34:00.002-08:002012-12-10T20:34:23.436-08:00It's a wrap! The 315 Films crew brought principal photography to a close on Sunday in a whirlwind day that spanned more than half a dozen locations stretching from West Fort Myers to rural Alva. The crew brought out castmembers Stuart Alexander, Vladimy Bellefleur, Chris Marzella, Tim Gunderman and Miguel Cardichon for several critical scenes, including a few toward the film's climax. Behind the camera for the action-packed day were writer-director Tim Ritter, cinematographer Perry Wilson, sound men Martin Lemaire and Kyle Austin, assistant director Ted Souppa, makeup artist Crystal Gossman, second assistant director Nick Twardus and behind-the-scenes photographer Ashley LaRue, with location help from Chuck and Sue Ballaro and Amy Bennett Williams.
The 315 Films crew picked back up shooting on debut feature "Moment of Truth" on Sunday, leaving only one full day of production remaining. But this day, scattered at four locations around downtown Fort Myers, included chases down back alleys and fights on rooftops as well as quieter, more dramatic scenes in which the actors got to flex their thespian muscles. Those actors included Stuart Alexander, Jennifer Keister, Vladimy Bellefleur and late addition Dave LePage. Shooting sites included the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center, United Cafe, the roads in the shadow of City of Palms Park and Mike Kiniry's house not far from downtown.

Also on hand were writer/director Tim Ritter, cinematographer Perry Wilson, sound man Martin Lemaire, assistant director Ted Souppa, second assistant director Nick Twardus, makeup artist Crystal Gossman, behind-the-scenes director Ashley Larue and production assistant Miguel Cardichon.
315 Films' Dawn, a winner at the Fort Myers Film Festival earlier this year, will show Sept. 23 as part of the programming at the Peace River Film Festival in Port Charlotte, Fla. The festival, in its second year, will run from Thursday to Sunday that week, with Dawn programmed as the last film to be shown. The Florida Short Films showcase will run from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 23, with a winner to be crowned in the category at the showcase's conclusion.
Dawn follows Terry as he awakes in a strange place, with some unexpected company there to meet him. Written and directed by Tim Ritter, the film stars Shawn Genther, Michael Dunsworth, Jennifer Keister and Stuart Alexander. It also features the work of cinematographer Perry Wilson and sound man Martin Lemaire. Genther will appear in two other films in the showcase as well.
