315 Films' Dawn, a winner at the Fort Myers Film Festival earlier this year, will show Sept. 23 as part of the programming at the Peace River Film Festival in Port Charlotte, Fla. The festival, in its second year, will run from Thursday to Sunday that week, with Dawn programmed as the last film to be shown. The Florida Short Films showcase will run from 7-9 p.m. Sept. 23, with a winner to be crowned in the category at the showcase's conclusion.
Dawn follows Terry as he awakes in a strange place, with some unexpected company there to meet him. Written and directed by Tim Ritter, the film stars Shawn Genther, Michael Dunsworth, Jennifer Keister and Stuart Alexander. It also features the work of cinematographer Perry Wilson and sound man Martin Lemaire. Genther will appear in two other films in the showcase as well.
